The KNI Parent and Guardian Group was established on September 25, 1998, with twenty-five people present.

The purpose of the KNI Parent and Guardian Group is to promote the welfare of KNI residents and to establish open, continuing communication with the facility staff and management charged with and responsible for their care.

Membership in the KNI Parent and Guardian Group will be open to family members, relatives, and friends, and to any other people with an interest in residents or former residents of KNI or other facilities of similar kind.

At present there are approximately 40 members who attend with a membership list of 106.
