Advocacy and Service Coordination

Each person living at KNI has a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional who serves as their Advocate, and who ensures they receive the full array of services necessary to meet their needs. In addition to their primary duties as advocates for the people who live at KNI, each Qualified Developmental Disability Professional serves as the Mentor and Facilitator for two to three "home teams."

Each QDDP is responsible for the following duties:

• Guide development of PLD’s for 15-20 people
• Coordinate implementation of PLD’s
• Complete 28-day reviews
• Promote personal goals and dreams
• Promote rights
• Maintain family contact
• Mentor for 2-3 home teams
• Ensure federal standards are met
