    Each person who lives at KNI is assigned a Health Coordinator (Registered Nurse) who monitors his/her health status on an ongoing basis, ans who serves as a medical case manager for the person. Health Care Coordinators make daily visits to each of the homes at KNI, and meet with teams on a regular basis to ensure the medical needs of people living at KNI are met. Ech person living at KNI also has a promary care physician or advanced registered nurse practitioner. Nurses, physicians, and the advanced registered nurse practitioner are available in the KNI Health Clinic to meet the ongoing health needs of the people who live at KNI.

Additionally, KNI contracts with a number of medical specialists to provide on-site services on a regular basis, including:

  • Physical Therapist
  • Pharmacists
  • Optometrist
  • Speech Therapist
  • Podiatrist
  • Neurologist
  • EEG Services
  • Bone Density Scans

People who live at KNI also have full access to other medical specialists in the Topeka, Kansas City, and Wichita areas whenever these specialized services are consdered necessary by primary care physicians or are requested by guardians.
